Job Title: Reception Administrator

Salary Details: £25,000 + pension pro rata

Closing date: 2/6/2025 (earlier if the role is filled sooner)

Employment hours: Mon-Friday (Mornings 9am/10am start till 1/2pm) 20 hours per week

Contract type: Fixed Term Contract (contract ends 31st March 2026)

The National Migraine Centre is looking for a committed individual to join our friendly team and help others beat the misery of migraine.

This is a rare opportunity to join a respected national charity and support our work getting essential medical care to those affected by headache. You’ll join a friendly, supportive team, working flexibly from your own home – wherever you are in the UK.

As reception administrator, you’ll have a pivotal role helping patients access our outstanding services, communicating by telephone and email. You don’t need to have experience of medical administration as our friendly team will provide ongoing on-the-job training.

An exceptional role for anyone interested in working within the charity or health sectors, you’ll gain invaluable professional experience with a reputable charity, all with the support of a friendly team.

This is a fast-paced and busy role, ensuring the smooth and effective running of our clinical services.

Key responsibilities

  • ensure remote consultations operate efficiently, effectively and safely by liaising with doctors, staff and our small team of volunteers
  • maintain patient records
  • manage relationships with patients and ensure queries are followed up quickly, accurately and with care
  • manage relationships with suppliers and other healthcare professionals
  • manage medication stock
  • take payments and donations
  • experience with Microsoft Office software: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • foster a patient-focused culture based on continuous improvement
  • uphold the charity’s values and work in line with best practice guidance and policies

Note: As this position requires you to work remotely it is important that you have a strong, secure and reliable WiFi connection at home and a private room in which to work.
