How long will I wait to see a doctor?

Exactly how long you may wait for a routine appointment is impossible to say, since it will depend on the nature of your headache and the numbers of doctors available. However, waiting lists for routine consultations can be very long when it’s busy due to overwhelming demand. You are likely to wait months.

You can generally see a doctor much more quickly with a private consultation. We can put you in touch with consultant neurologists and senior GP headache specialists who are available to see you urgently.

Botox procedures, nerve blocks and anti-CGRP appointments, for medication such as Aimovig, Ajovy and Emgality, are also generally available more quickly.
